This rig has ALL the available options: FM mode, built-in 110V power supply, 8-pole crystal filters in both IFs, marker generator, calibrator, CW keyer. I am the original owner.
In 2015, I had it serviced by a factory technician who replaced capacitors, updated firmware, and performed a general tuneup. Proof of said update is the VFO showing 5.332 MHz in the latest WARC band, 60 meters.
Between 1989 and 2014, this rig sat unused. I was sadly out of the hobby for 23 years ... although, not by intent. Family issues and expenses kept me from erecting a proper HF antenna. Meanwhile it sat on a desk in my library, mocking me for all that long while.
When I took up the hobby again I sent the IC-745 out for its tune-up. Upon its return I was on-the-air regularly with this as my only HF rig until mid-December of 2022.
Then I got the itch for portable operations. While in search of a Elecraft KX2, I lucked into finding a second-hand Mission RGO One in its place. This latter has one thing the IC-745 lacks: full-QSK for Morse code. The RGO One's 50W more than suffice to drive my 500W, full-QSK amp. In short, the single rig serves for base and portable both. Thus did the RGO One replace the IC-745 upon my desk, with the latter relegated to emergency backup.
More recently yet, I am now due to receive a second, brand new Mission RGO One. Which leaves the older, second-hand RGO One as my new emergency backup. Which demotes the venerable IC-745 as the backup's backup. Three HF rigs is surely one too many.
I can't be bothered to ship it, though. At most, I'll meet someone half way (limit of 50 miles from Holland MI) for a direct hand-off. Otherwise, I'll hang onto it until some future hamfest.
Lastly, buyer must be a licensed ham. If not listed on QRZ, I'll want to see the license. Important because the IC-745 is not locked for transmission to just only the ham bands. It's modded for MARS. Lawfully so, as I was (at one time) a Navy MARS operator: call sign NNN0VIM.
Extras included: manual, microphone, plus aux 12V power cable (never used), and still-in-the-box mobile mounting bracket.
